About Azhari, LLC
Over the course of his career, Mr. Azhari has learned that there are as many defenses that can be raised to fight a charge as there are charges themselves. How he decides to defend you will depend upon the specific circumstances of your case, but there are certain things he has found to be true in nearly every case that he has defended.
Arrests and charges are not the same. One of the biggest misconceptions is that an arrest is the same thing as a charge. Nothing could be further from the truth, and this is something that Azhari Law works hard to exploit.
When a police officer arrests you, they are not actually charging you. In fact, law enforcement officers do not have the ability to file charges. So who does? The prosecutor.
What that means for you is that there may be an opportunity for an experienced legal professional with “insider” knowledge to swoop in before charges are even filed and derail the case. Our law firm specializes in getting charges dropped before your first court date and working with prosecutors to convince them not to file in the first place.
Even when this does not work, it often helps in getting charges reduced and lessening the severity of penalties.
Having a lawyer present helps. Criminal cases are often won or lost in the first 72 hours. This is the period where law enforcement officers are most likely to have you all to themselves. The time where they will attempt to trick a confession out of you. The time during which evidence is being recovered and processed… or lost for good.
If you act fast to contact a defense attorney as soon as you are arrested or learn that you are under investigation, many of these issues can be significantly alleviated. Mr. Azhari knows how to make sure officers respect your rights and follow all proper procedures. He can advise you on when to talk and when to keep quiet. And if anything out of the ordinary does occur, he will be there to witness and record it so he can use it in your defense.
